Associate Programmer |

Associate Java programmers are expected to have at least two years of experience writing Java code. Within this job class, we distinguish between three levels of proficiency - Associate Programmer I, II, or III. All associate programmers should have a working knowledge of the J2SE API and be able to develop an implementation plan for an assigned programming task. Less experienced programmers should be gaining an understanding of the conceptual foundations of object-oriented design. The more experienced programmers will have a good understanding of the object oriented paradigm, design patterns, and distributed computing models. Associate Programmers II and III are expected to read and work from UML diagrams. Under the supervision of senior team members, they are expected to create and modify detailed use cases, conceptual diagrams, collaboration diagrams, sequence diagrams, and design class diagrams. With minimal or no supervision, an associate programmer at the III level should be able to implement a design pattern . |

Swing & XML
|
The associate programmer in this position will focus on the application UI and extending ISDL's look and feel. This person will be the technical lead for the Swing text components, HTML, XML and their applications in the domain of non-structured data (text). These components are key to the applications currenlty under development and scheduled for development. |

|
Network |
The associate programmer in this position will have responsibility for testing our application on Unix (Linux & Solaris) and making any adjustments necessary to ensure cross-platform capabilities. This position will also work with FTP, SMTP, and HTTP and work closely with the team leader and senior programmers developing distributed services based on the Java Network Services API. |
